Cigarette Penetration*

The performer shows 5 needles and a small brass tube with several holes. He borrows a cigarette from the audience and, after unscrewing the cap of the tube, puts the cigarette in the tube. Anybody can see that the space inside the tube is wholly occupied by the cigarette. Now he closes back the tube with the cap and, one at a time, he passes the 5 needles through the holes. The cigarette is totally pierced. In the end, the magician removes the needles and gives back to the spectator the cigarette which is intact.
